UAP Explorer Methodology

This page is a static Vercel-friendly explorer for the flagship UFO sightings map. The product layer supports official record inspection, local filtering, source-linked case review, and recurring observations without scraping NUFORC or presenting report volume as proof of origin.

V1 uses 144 real source-linked records: official AARO/WAR.GOV-indexed public records, documented Other Worlders case files, and lower-confidence historical sky reports. Some government records expose only broad theatres such as Europe, Africa, the Middle East, or naval operating areas; those are mapped as approximate centroids and labelled in the detail card. Historical reports are also approximate city, region, or chronicle-location anchors. First-party submissions remain pending until moderated.

Evidence filters group records by the strongest source mode visible in the file: radar or sensor data, photo or video material, physical traces or effects, and pilot or crew testimony. These labels describe the report package, not proof of anomalous origin.
